September is National Suicide Prevention Month. All month, mental health advocates, prevention organizations, survivors, allies, and community members unite to promote suicide prevention awareness.

We know this is a serious problem. In fact, in the United States, about 45,000 people die from suicide every year, and about 1.75 million people attempt. (CDC data) By reaching out and being direct, we can all make a difference.
